Ongoing clashes and national outcry in Manipur, India

The World

The northeastern Indian state of Manipur has been subject to violent clashes since May, led by disputes between two ethnic, tribal groups. The tensions have led to more than 100 deaths and instances of sexual violence. A recently released video, filmed three months ago, shows two women being sexually assaulted by one of the groups, igniting more protests and calls from across the country for government action. Indian journalist, Makepeace Sitlhou, joins The World’s host Carols Hills to discuss what is happening in Manipur.
