A judge has approved a class action settlement between the US government and international students who say they were tricked into enrolling in a fake university that the Department of Homeland Security set up to catch people seeking student visas. Many were deported, others charged with fraud, and the tuition money paid to ICE was never returned. Max Rivlin-Nadler reports that the government will pay $450,000 toward the students’ legal fees and they will be allowed to reapply for visas.
