‘Disaster of the century’ in Turkey and Syria

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited areas in southeaster Turkey hit hard by a powerful earthquake on Monday and described it as “the disaster of the century.” The estimated death toll has climbed to more than 20,000 people.
