Africa’s mixed responses to Russia’s war in Ukraine

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy told the African Union Monday that “Africa is actually taken hostage” by Russia because of its invasion of Ukraine. While countries across the continent face serious food insecurity and rising fuel prices worsened by the conflict, the countries’ responses to the war have been mixed.
