A rare public space at Beirut’s first skate park

Since Lebanon’s civil war, there has been almost no public space in the country, and almost no public transit. And that means almost no places where people from Lebanon’s different religious sects connect with each other. Now a skate park, free and built by private funding and nonprofits, is providing that space. Rebecca Collard reports that skaters there are hoping it can be a model for politics in the deeply divided sectarian country.
