A police raid in Rio de Janeiro turns deadly

A police operation targeting drug dealers in Rio de Janeiro turned into a mass shooting. At least 25 people were killed, in what is believed to be the deadliest such police operation in that city’s history. Residents and human rights activists are accusing the police of using excessive force. They also want to know why the raid took place right now with the pandemic raging.
