Samanta Helou Hernandez is a multimedia journalist and photographer covering culture, identity, and social issues through a Latinx lens. Her work has been published in Curbed, Remezcla, LA Weekly, and Playboy, among others. She was an Annenberg Fellow at USC where she received her M.A. in Arts Journalism.

This activist group is taking on the state of Honduras in the first trans femicide court case

If the court rules in Cattrachas’ favor, this will be the first time Honduras is held responsible for trans femicide. The group hopes it will set a precedent for similar cases across Latin America.
