Audio Engineer
Robin joined The World’s audio-engineering team in the Fall of 2004 to record, edit, and mix audio elements for the show in both pre-produced and live production environments. Working for WGBH Radio since May of 1998, Robin has also recorded and mixed live and remote classical, folk, blues and jazz ensembles for broadcast. Other special WGBH projects have included on-site engineering assistance with the Boston Lyric Opera broadcasts, editing and mixing of the annual New Year’s Day Vienna broadcasts, transmission engineering of the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood summer broadcasts, and audio engineering for Open Source with Christopher Lydon. Robin is a graduate of Brown University, where she majored in electrical engineering. She also studied extensively at the Berklee College of Music, where she focused on Music Production and Engineering. She has recorded and mixed dance music remixes for Epic Records, Motown Records and a few independent dance music record labels. On occasion you may find her in the underground, deep house music scene in Boston, New York, Baltimore, Miami, Zurich and the World Wide Web, playing keyboards and dee-jaying. Her weekly Internet mixshow is on HandzOnRadio fm every Saturday from 12p-2p (EST). When not engaged in all things audio, you might find her inline skating throughout Greater Boston and beyond.
