Michelle Kim reports on national security for the Medill News Service.

I report on national security for the Medill News Service and study journalism and history at Northwestern University. I worked as a freelance production assistant for CNN in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the summer of 2016 and interned for MSNBC’s daily political show, Meet the Press Daily with Chuck Todd, and the CNN Video News department in NYC.I’m from New York City, but my new obsession is exploring the outdoors. This year, I have gone hiking in the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone Park, and the Grand Tetons. In the summer of 2015, I worked at a grassroots development nonprofit in Rajasthan, India, establishing human rights forums for children in rural villages. Telling stories through video in international settings is a passion I hope to continue.
