Modernization efforts are destroying large swaths of old Cairo

There has been a public outcry in Egypt over government’s plans to demolish historic sites and gardens in order to make way for new main roads and elevated highways. The government says this initiative will improve traffic flow in Cairo but residents say they don’t want to see part of their national history destroyed. The World’s Shirin Jaafari speaks with host Marco Werman.
