In a first, Japan sees population decline across all prefectures

On Wednesday, Japan released new population numbers. The figures aren’t positive, if you’re the government. For the first time, the country saw a decline in population across all 47 of its prefectures last year. In total, the population fell by around 800,000. The World’s host Marco Werman spoke to Jake Adelstein in Japan, the author of Tokyo Vice, a memoir about his time on the crime beat in the city.
