Facing limited staffing in hospitals and care facilities, a core group — foreign nurses hoping to work in the US and alleviate the imbalance — cannot work due to delays in green card processing, further exasperating the demand. Erica DeBoer, chief nursing officer at Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the US, joins The World’s Carol Hills to share why this backlog is significant and what impacts will spawn out of the inability to meet demand.
