Mexican judge halts construction of Maya train project

The Maya train is a $9.8 billion infrastructure project that would connect Mexico’s archaeological sites on the Yucatán Peninsula. A judge has now halted construction pending an environmental review along a stretch of the proposed railroad that’s been rerouted to run through an area of jungle that is rich in ancient underground caves. Carol Hills speaks with Gustavo Ampugnani of Greenpeace Mexico about the environmental case against the Maya train project.
