Prescription painkillers like Vicodin, Percocet and other opioids cause an average of 40 overdose deaths a day in America and often lead addicts straight to heroin. Journalist and author Sam Quinones documents how the prescription drug epidemic intersected with the explosive rise of heroin in his book, “Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic,” which last month won the National Book Critics Circle Award in the general nonfiction category.

Oscar-nominated actor Don Cheadle joins us to talk about his new film, “Miles Ahead,” in which he stars as jazz legend Miles Davis and makes his directorial debut. Cheadle also returns as Marty Kaan in the Season 5 debut of Showtime’s “House of Lies” on April 10.
