Jonathan Kalan

Jonathan Kalan is freelance journalist and photographer based in Nairobi, Kenya, specializing in social business & innovation in emerging markets. In just 24 years he has traveled to over 35 countries, worked and lived in South Asia and Africa, and collaborated with NGOs, social enterprises, technology start ups, and media companies. His photography/writing has recently appeared in The Guardian, Financial Times, Christian Science Monitor, Boston Globe, Destination Magazine EA, and several others. Jonathan was a Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards 2011 Finalist, and is also founder of The (BoP) Project.
