Assassins murdered Honduran activist Berta Cáceres. Her mother and daughters have taken up the fight.

Conflict

The 43-year-old Cáceres was killed in 2016 by gunmen who entered her home in La Esperanza, Honduras. She had fought against a dam project from Desarrollos Energéticos S.A., or DESA, that was to be built along the Gualcarque River, considered sacred to her indigenous Lenca people.
