This week in “Thanks, Internet” — creepy cats, old New Order, and awoman having the worst time ever on Splash Mountain win the internet this week.
New Order released “Blue Monday” 33 years ago this week. So Orkestra Obsolete decided to take the synth-driven New Wave dance hit and cover it 1933-style. Using only instruments that would have been around 50 years before the song came out, (sorry, Moog) this cover relies on prepared piano, harmonium, zither, musical saw, theremin, and singing glasses. And it’s so good. Come for the hammered dulcimer, and stay for the Zorro masks.
I’m not sure which is creepier, that these cats like to watch every meal their owners eat, or that the humans feel the need to capture it and share it on Instagram. Either way, I can’t stop staring back.
It’s such a thin line between best co-worker ever and worst co-worker ever. Kudos to the patience and planning that went into this. Now, excuse me, while I go order a bear suit.
Wife got a little perturbed that I wouldn't accompany her on the ride.
Thispicture of a woman alone and angry on Splash Mountain is a gift. And the internet is loving it.
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your legs are going to decide to do.
