Thai police make a major drug bust estimated at more than $31.7 million

Police in Thailand have seized 3.8 million methamphetamine tablets in the country's largest drug bust in years.

The haul is estimated at more than $31.7 million dollars, according to the Associated Press.

Police raided an empty house outside Bangkok where they found the pills and 156 pounds of crystal meth. Police Major General Comronwit Toopgrajank said they came across the home after tracking down a car abandoned there after a car chase.

Thailand is a leading market and transit point for methamphetamine, much of which is produced in neighboring Burma, also known as, Myanmar.
