Police evacuate Swedish airport, investigate bag

Sweden's Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport has reopened following a security incident that halted all incoming and outgoing flights today, The Associated Press reported.
Police had earlier evacuated a security check area in the airport's international terminal and sent bomb technicians to investigate a suspicious bag. But the AP reported that airport officials said later today that the contents had been identified as harmless and that the airport had reopened to traffic.
Airport operator Swedavia's spokesman Jan Lindqvist said the move halted all incoming and outgoing international and domestic flights, affecting some 2,000 passengers.
Police spokesman Jan Weiren said a bag with suspected dangerous content was discovered in the security check at the international terminal. He said the owner couldn't explain what was inside the bag and was being questioned by police.
The Local, Sweden's English news service, reported that police spokesman Stefan Gustafsson had told the news agency TT: "He's not suspected of any crime but we will be interrogating him."
Officials said that, while the terminal for international departures had been evacuated, the domestic terminal had remained open to shelter stranded passengers.
