Rodent’s revenge

A large black rat met an untimely end in the food court of a posh Sao Paulo shopping mall—but not before it terrorized well-heeled diners. Cue the shaky cell-phone video, please. The action starts about 20 seconds in.

That's when you’ll catch a glimpse of this terrifying creature, and hear screams that will likely disappoint anyone trying to fight stereotypes about high-strung South Americans.

Gallant mall-security knights come to the rescue, stomping the creature to death behind a baby carriage, and tossing its limp body into a nearby trashcan. Given the quality of the video, it’s hard to come to any hard and fast conclusions, but I’m pretty sure a New York City subway rodent could have totally taken this mall rat in a fight.
