Brazil: world’s richest man?

GlobalPost

Brazilian mining magnate Eike Batista may be the world’s eighth-richest man but he just told the Wall Street Journal he expects to jump to number one. Currently worth $27 billion according to Forbes magazine, Batista would have to beat out the likes of Warren Buffet ($50 billion), Bill Gates ($56 billion) and Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim ($74 billion) in order to take the top spot. Although Batista seemed certain enough that he’ll come out on top, he declined to say how long he thinks the climb will take.
