Government media reported Wednesday that state-owned companies are snapping up advance tickets, helping sell out many of the first scheduled showings of "Beginning of the Great Revival," which is slated to open on Thursday across China. The star-studded film tells the tale of the events that led to the founding of the Communist Party of China, which was officially established on July 1, 1921, in Shanghai. It's not unusual for state-owned companies in China to buy out tickets for events, but this movie might prove more important than most. The government is working hard on a propaganda campaign to instill nostalgia among Chinese citizens about the long and storied past of the party.
