The business magazine Exame is chasing rumors Facebook is opening an office in Brazil. While Facebook hasn’t confirmed the story, here's the evidence so far: Facebook registered an office with the Board of Trade of Sao Paulo; They hired a former Google employee to lead some kind of new team here. Brazil is a major battleground in the war between Google and Facebook. Google’s social networking site Orkut beat out Facebook here for years, but recently Facebook has been gaining ground.
