Vanessa Hessler: Model fired from job for being Mutassim Gaddafi’s gf

Vanessa Hessler, the Italian-American ex-girlfriend of Muammar Gaddafi's son, Mutassim Gaddafi, has been fired from her job as the face of an international telecommunications company for speaking about her 'passionate love affair' with the former Libyan dictators son.

Hessler, 23, told Diva e Donna, an Italian magazine, that she spent four year with Mutassim Gaddafi and that their relationship had been a 'very beautiful love story" reports the Daily Mail.

Mutassim was killed alongside his father this month.

"The Gaddafi family is not as they are being depicted, they are normal people," Hessler said to Diva e Donna.

Telefonica Germany, and its subsidiary, Alice, have decided to stop working with Hessler, and will remove her face from its website within hours, reported spokesperson Albert Fetsch on Monday.

"Vanessa Hessler has failed to distance herself from her comments on the conflict in Libya," Mr Fetsch said, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Hessler, a model-turned-actress also told Diva e Donna said that she was crying for Libya. She believed that the rebels are "people who don't know what they're doing."

Talks between Telefonica and Hessler's agency did not yield a solution because Hessler stood by her comments, said Mr Fetsch. "We and our clients have no comprehension for what she said."

Hessler is not the only supermodel to have dated Mutassim Gaddafi. In August, Talitha van Zon, was evacuated from Libya to Malta. Though her relationship with Mutassim had ended years ago, they remained friends.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, van Zon recounted details of her friendship with Mutassim, their trips to Monaco and St. Bart's, and the Louis Vuitton bags she received as gifts.
