OWS Day of Action videos show protests in New York

Protesters all over the United States are planning a day of action to mark the two-month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street.

The action began in New York City's Liberty Square at 7 a.m., when protesters gathered near the New York Stock Exchange to stop people from entering and ringing the morning bell.

According to The New York Times, police have started taking the protesters sitting down on the street into custody.

The Guardian reported that:

The Occupy protesters have succeeded in causing considerable disruption in Lower Manhattan this morning, but police have secured the New York Stock Exchange and split the march into smaller, more easily contained groups. There have been more scuffles and arrests.

In this video, by Guardian reporter Adam Gabbatt, a man is arrested and stuffed into a police van on Broadway.

On Tuesday, before dawn, police in New York City began clearing Occupy Wall Street protesters from Zuccotti Park. 

Activists at the two-month-old camp were told the park would be “cleared and restored” before sunrise – and that anyone who did not comply would be arrested.

This video, by Casey Neistat shows the raid on Zuccotti Park.  

He writes: 

My office isn't far from Zuccotti Park and when I heard it was being cleared I went down with my camera. I ended up filming for 18 hours until the Park was reopened at 6pm on November 15, 2011. The police presence was overwhelming, more than I've ever seen – more than during the blackout, more than the days after September 11th.

In this video, retired Philadelphia Police Captain Ray Lewis gives a message to NYPD from Zuccotti Park.  Lewis joined the Occupy movement, and was arrested in New York City.
