Police in New Mexico say a teenager is in custody after fatally shooting five people inside an Albuquerque home, reports AP.

A man, a woman and three children were found dead from multiple gunshot wounds at a home on Saturday night.

The teen was arrested and booked on murder charges in connection with the shootings Saturday night, Bernalillo County sheriff's spokesman Aaron Williamson told the Associated Press.

The charges include two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.

Police are trying to determine the motive for the shooting as well as any connection between the boy and the victims.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that multiple weapons appear to have been used in the shooting, including an assault-type rifle.
