#My2k: Obama answers fiscal cliff questions on Twitter

President Obama took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to answer questions about the fiscal cliff and middle class tax cuts.

The Daily Beast's Howard Kurtz noted that the president called on the American public to use social media to demand change. Last week, Obama said, "I want you to call, I want you to send an email, I want you to post on their Facebook wall. If you tweet then use a hashtag we’re calling #My2K. Not Y2K. My2K. Because it’s about your 2K in your pocket. We’re trying to burn that into people’s mind here."

As of 2 p.m. Monday, Obama was using the official White House Twitter account to answer people's questions about the fiscal cliff. The Wall Street Journal's Market Watch noted that the account has more than 3.3 million followers, making it a "powerful pulpit."
