Mogadishu suicide bombing kills three

Two suicide bombers attacked a restaurant in Mogadishu Saturday, killing themselves and the security guard who tried to stop them. 

"There were two suicide bombers who attacked the Village restaurant," said Abdi Adan, a Somali police officer, Agence France Presse reported. "The two of them have died and other people who stayed in the place were injured. We are still investigating the casualties." 

Another witness, Idle Husien, said there had been a "heavy exchange of gunfire before the heavy explosions."

No one has yet to claim responsibility for the attack, but al Shabaab insurgents have conducted similar bombings in the past, Reuters reported

The al-Qaeda affiliated group was ousted from Mogadishu by Africa Union forces in August 2011, but the militants continue to stage attacks in the Somalian capital, the Associated Press reported
