When Michelle Obama appeared with a new hairstyle last month, commentators believed she was simply making a fashion statement.
But the First Lady has revealed in a television interview her radical change had nothing to do with fashion and was the result of a “mid-life crisis”, ABC News reported.
“This is my mid-life crisis, the bangs,” the 49-year-old said in a preview clip for Wednesday’s “Rachael Ray Show.”
“I couldn’t get a sports car. They won’t let me bungee jump. So instead, I cut my bangs."
The new hairstyle last month happened before her 49th birthday, which came a few days before President Barack Obama’s second inauguration, the Washington Post reported.
The full interview with the First Lady will be aired on Wednesday.
