Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s car mobbed by Iranian protesters (VIDEO)

A group of people surrounded Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's car last week, many of them protesting their country's poverty. One man continuously yells that he's hungry, according to CNN, while a woman manages to climb onto the vehicle's roof to have a face-to-face conversation with the president.

Ahmadinejad was being driven through the southern coastal city of Bandar-Abbas on a routine tour when people on the streets started their protest.

A video of the incident, which made its way to YouTube on Saturday, shows that many people in the crowded street appear to be supporters of the Iranian president, as they reach out to shake his hand while he waves from the open top of his convertible.

The almost three and a half minute video appears to have been shot on a cell phone, and shows an elderly man yelling to the president, "Ahmadinejad, I am hungry! I am retired, Ahmadinejad, I am hungry!"

The guards surrounding the vehicle manage to usher the man away, but as their backs are turned, a woman jumps on the hood of the car.

Even though she is almost pulled from the slow-moving vehicle by her leg, she manages to climb to the roof, where she sits face-to-face with Ahmadinejad, having a conversation that can't be heard.

Opposition was all but eliminated in Iran in 2009 when Ahmadinejad won a disputed election, according to The Telegraph. Despite reports of the country's despair, little photographic evidence of that opposition has emerged since he came into power.
