Libya: Church bomb kills two

At least two Egyptians have died in a bomb attack on an Egyptian Orthodox Church in Libya.“Two Egyptians were killed and two were wounded," a diplomat told Press TV.

Home-made dynamite used for fishing was found at the site of the bomb, BBC reported. The church is in Dafiniyah and is often frequented by Egyptians. Egypt's foreign minister denounced the attack and called for an investigation, Kuwait News Agency reported

"The explosion seems like it was very strong and I have started making my investigations with Misrata officials," the Egyptian consul in the city, Tareq Dahrouj, told Reuters. The attack was the first major assault on a Christian target in Libya since activists overthrew Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Though a mostly Islamic country, Libya has small communities of Christians, Reuters reported, and Christians in Egypt and Libya have become worried about being targeted by hard-line Islamists.
