JetBlue pilot Clayton Osbon indicted for interfering with a flight crew

Clayton F Osbon, the JetBlue pilot whose March 27 mid-air meltdown caused him to rant about Jesus and al-Qaeda during a flight from New York City to Las Vegas, has been indicted on one count of interference with a flight crew, according to The Associated Press.
The news agency said court documents posted today revealed that a federal grand jury in Lubbock, TX returned the indictment.

Osbon is currently undergoing court-ordered psychiatric examination to help determine whether he was legally sane at the time of the incident and whether he is fit to stand trial, according to the AP.
JetBlue Flight 191 was diverted to Amarillo, TX after Osbon began ranting and raving. Fellow pilots locked Osbon out of the cockpit and he was restrained by passengers.
The AP said Osbon’s attorney, Dean Roper, declined to comment today.
