Harvard students cheating investigated after final exam

Harvard University officials say dozens of students are being investigated for cheating on a final exam.

The Associated Press reported that the school discovered the undergraduates may have shared answers or plagiarized.

Jay Harris, Harvard’s dean of undergraduate education, told the Boston Globe the school is investigating 125 students after discovering similar answers in half the take-home exams of the class of some 250 students.

"These allegations, if proven, represent totally unacceptable behavior that betrays the trust upon which intellectual inquiry at Harvard depends," President Drew Faust told the AP.

Harris said the students whose tests proved questionable have been notified and will appear before the Harvard College Administrative Board over the next few weeks. Each will appear individually, according to the Globe.

It is unclear if those students who have graduated since the exam could lose their diplomas if found guilty.
