France: 3 killed in private jet crash

Three Americans were killed Friday when their private jet broke burst into flames upon landing at an airport in the south of France, Agence France Presse reported.

A private jet crashed in southern France on Friday, killing all three crew members on board, according to Reuters.

AFP reported that emergency workers raced to put out the blazing twin-engined Gulfstream IV at Castellet airport near the seaside resort of Saint Tropez which is between Marseille and Toulon.

The crew was made up of two men aged 24 and 51, and a 30-year-old woman, CNN reported.

The circumstances surrounding the crash at Le Castellet airfield were not immediately clear, the official said.
