Donald Trump, real estate mogul and host of the Celebrity Apprentice, said that he was considering entering the presidential race as an independent in May if "the right person doesn't get nominated by the Republican party," he told told CBS News' Political Hotsheet.
He just needs to wait for his contract with NBC for Celebrity Apprentice to end because of equal time laws.
The laws state that if any candidate is given time on a network, that network "shall afford equal opportunities to all other such candidates for that office in the use of such broadcasting station."
Trump told CBS News that he has met with almost all of the candidates and that he has very good relationships with all of them, but if the right candidate isn't picked, he'll have to enter the race himself.
