Dominique Strauss-Kahn's wife, Anne Sinclair, has confirmed that she and the ex-IMF chief have separated.
BBC News reports that the confirmation was unintentional: Sinclair was asked by Le Parisien how life was going since her separation, and she responded that she was doing well.
"I'm in good form, I've been on holiday, I'm working hard, I'm focusing on the American elections," she said, AFP reported.
Sinclair is a journalist who is currently running Huffington Post's French Edition.
Rumors that the two had separated have been circulating for months. In June, both she and Strauss-Kahn threatened to sue Closer magazine for claiming that they had separated.
Strauss-Kahn resigned from the IMF after he was arrested for sexually assaulting a New York hotel maid. Though the charges against him were eventually dropped, he is still embroiled in a variety of sex scandals.
Last March, Strauss-Kahn was charged with organizing a prostitution ring in both France and the US.
According to the BBC, Strauss-Kahn and Sinclair had been married for 21 years.
