Election officials disqualified a man running for mayor in Zenica, Bosnia for including porn on his campaign website.

Mirad Hadziahmetovic told ABC News that he would appeal the ruling.

“The electoral commission ordered I remove adult (content) within three hours, so I did it,” Hadziahmetovic said on the ABC News website Friday. “I will appeal tomorrow. We will know the outcome by Wednesday or Thursday.”

The 43-year-old independent candidate said he considers the unorthodox ploy successful.

“I made a name for myself with this provocative campaign and now people do know about my mayoral program,” he told ABC.

To access the erotica, visitors first had to verify their ages and answer questions about municipal politics.

After the porn concluded, Hadziahmetovic appeared in a video saying, “If you liked this clip, vote for me.”

The response was overwhelming and crashed Hadziahmetovic’s site, although he’s unsure if it was his politics or porn.

Zenica is Bosnia’s fourth-largest city with a large Muslim population.
