Afghanistan: NATO airstrike kills 8 women

A NATO airstrike has killed eight women in Afghanistan's Laghman province.
According to NATO, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), was using precision bombs to target Taliban fighters in the region, but had been made aware of "possible ISAF-caused civilian casualties."
ISAF extended its sincerest condolences over the "tragic loss of life," BBC News reported.
According to Afghan officials quoted by ABC News, the women were out in the mountains, collecting firewood, during the attack.
Elsewhere in Afghanistan, four NATO troops were killed in another suspected insider attack, bringing the number of causualties from these so-called "green on blue" attacks this weekend to four.
According to Reuters, at least 51 foreign military personnel have been killed in "insider" attacks this year alone.
