A Taliban-claimed suicide bombing in eastern Afghanistan today killed three coalition soldiers and one Afghan civilian, NATO and Afghan officials said today, reported the Associated Press.
The incident took place days after the coalition announced that al-Qaida's Kunar network leader, known as Mufti Assad and Mufti Punjabi, had been killed by a Friday airstrike.

As is customary, NATO did not provide further details on today's assault, but local official Wasifullah Wasify told AP at least one Afghan civilian was killed and three people were injured in the attack.
Local government sources said two suicide bombers set off their explosives outside a Kunar provincial council building, according to AP, while Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid confirmed to the the agency that the group had targeted a NATO patrol in Kunar.
International troops are set to pull out of Afghanistan by 2014.
