US Air Force to sack general in charge of nuclear missiles over loss of ‘trust and confidence’

When you can’t trust the guy in charge of your nuclear missiles, there’s really only one thing to do.
Sack him.
This is exactly what the US Air Force is reportedly doing after it lost “trust and confidence” in Maj. Gen. Michael Carey, who was a two-star general responsible for no less than 450 intercontinental ballistic missiles across the United States.
So far, there’s been no official confirmation of Carey’s removal from the 20th Air Force and the exact reasons for his dismissal have not been made public.
Citing unidentified officials, the Associated Press reported Carey got the boot for “alleged personal misbehavior.”
The good news is the sacking was not linked to the country's nuclear arsenal, an unnamed official told the BBC.
Phew.
The vice commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, Maj. Gen. Jack Weinstein, will take over Carey’s duties for the time being, the AP said.
