Twitter users on Wednesday erupted in rage at Copenhagen Zoo’s decision to kill a family of four lions.
The zoo euthanized two lions and two 10-month-old cubs on Monday to make room for a new male.
It said attempts to find a new home for the animals had failed.

This is not the first time Copenhagen Zoo has courted controversy over its animal euthanasia practices.
It sparked international outcry last month by killing a healthy young giraffe called Marius to prevent inbreeding.
After this latest incident, animal lovers intensified calls for a public boycott of the zoo.
Others went further, saying they wanted to see it shut down.
