After months of speculation, Tiger Woods and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn confirmed Monday they are in a relationship.
In messages released simultaneously on their respective Facebook pages, accompanied with a happy snap of the pair, the two confirmed they are a couple, CBS News reported.
"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods," the 28-year-old Olympian wrote on her Facebook page.
"Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy.
"I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV"
Woods, 37, who divorced his wife, Elin Nordegren last year, wrote on his Facebook page: "Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating."
"We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."
Rumors of a romance began in November last year with the pair spotted together on the golfer's private yacht and in Vail, US Magazine reported.
Last month Woods sent his private jet to fly the newly divorced Vonn home to Vail, Colorado after she was injured at the Alpine World Championships in Austria.
Vonn announced her split from husband of four years, Thomas Vonn, in November 2011.
