Fans learned late on Friday that TV personality Ryan Seacrest and dancer Julianne Hough had called it quits after almost three years of dating.
Us Weekly reports that even if the split seemed surprising to outsiders, its no shock that Seacrest puts his work schedule ahead of any romance.
"Dude works all the time," a friend said of the 38-year-old American Idol judge, TV producer, radio host and red carpet star. "He never sleeps."
"It's a lifestyle she [Julianne] couldn't handle anymore. Work always, always came first [for Ryan] She wants a more lowkey life."
Hough, 24, keeps a pretty packed schedule herself. The former Dancing With the Stars pro also starred in last month's Safe Haven, opposite Josh Duhamel.
"It's a hard thing to do, especially when you're so caught up in your work and bettering yourself," Hough recently told Parade about keeping her romance with Seacrest alive.
"It does get hard because you're so focused on that, but I think at the end of the day you have to find a balance with what's really important."
