Iranian Zelzal missiles are displayed on September 23, 2012 in a square south of Tehran to mark the “Sacred Defence Week,” commemorating Iran’s eight-year war with Iraq. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards unveiled a new long-range drone on September 25, 2012.
Iran has equipped its Islamic Revolution Guards Corps with a “massive" number of new long-range missile launchers, according to Fars, the semi-official Iranian news agency.
The number of missile launchers was not specified.
Fars quoted Iranian Defense Minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi as saying the missile launchers give Iran’s armed forces the ability to “mightily crush any invading enemy and will make him regretful of his deeds."
According to the Associated Press:
From time to time Iran announces military achievements that cannot be independently verified.
It is known that Iran has surface-to-surface missiles that can travel more than 1,200 miles, allowing them to reach targets inside Israel and US bases in the Middle East, RT reported.
