60 Seconds on Earth: Fighting Ebola with a megaphone and motorbike (VIDEO)

KAYES, Mali — Faced with the country's first Ebola case, authorities here enlisted the help of traditional communicators, called griots, to teach people how to avoid catching the virus. Ibrahim Sacko took it upon himself to turn his moped into a mobile loudspeaker to reach as many people as possible. There have been no new cases in Kayes, but several more — unrelated to the first — have been confirmed in Bamako. Facing an outbreak, communication will play an essential role in curtailing the spread of the virus in the already troubled West African nation.
