A 12-Year-Old Tech Prodigy’s Mission

The Takeaway

Quin Etnyre wanted to make tech education more fun. So he became a teacher and he started his own company called Qtechknow, which sells DIY electronic starter kits.
He has plenty of his own experience with DIY electronics. He’s already invented several technological gadgets, including a robot that dusts and a fart detector.
Maybe his inventions aren’t so surprising when we consider that Quin is only 12-years-old.
Quin, who will soon be entering 8th grade, believes anyone can learn to be comfortable with  technology. He joins The Takeaway to discuss some of his inventions and the ways he is working to make technology more accessible.

Do you support journalism that strengthens our democracy?

At The World, we believe strongly that human-centered journalism is at the heart of an informed public and a strong democracy. We see democracy and journalism as two sides of the same coin. If you care about one, it is imperative to care about the other.

Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform and empower listeners and hold the powerful accountable. Neither would be possible without the support of listeners like you. If you believe in our work, will you give today? We need your help now more than ever!
