Some Iraqis are joining together to form what US officials call “Concerned Local Citizen” groups or CLCs. These groups of armed citizens patrol their own neighborhoods and villages, working closely with US and Iraqi soldiers in the fight against militants. Anchor Marco Werman finds out more from Iraqi journalist Ghaith Abdul-Ahad, who profiled one citizens group for Britain’s Guardian newspaper.
