Robert Schimmel

Fair Game
The World

At the turn of the millennium, comedian Robert Schimmel was on fire. He had a successful HBO special, he was a frequent guest on Howard Stern, he was about to star in a Fox sit-com, and he had a fox-y girlfriend half his age. But then he learned he had cancer. So he put those triumphs aside and poured all his fire into battling stage three non-hodgkins lymphoma. And somehow he managed both to stay funny, and to get those around him to crack up. He’s written a book about the experience called Cancer on $5 a Day, Chemo Not Included. He speaks with Faith Salie about it on Fair Game.
