Heat Waves Continue in the United States

The Takeaway

Temperatures will be in the 90s today across the country, as the heat wave that has been stifling the Midwest begins to move east. Bernie Rayno,  senior meteorologist at AccuWeather, talks about what’s behind the pattern of sweltering weather, what people can do to beat the heat, and how to protect the most vulnerable populations.
Jérôme Kasparian  talks about his research at the University of Geneva, where he’s experimenting with a high-powered laser that can squeeze water from the air – in other words, create rain.
