Edward James Olmos first won national recognition – and an Academy Award nomination – for his portrayal of the dedicated and inspiring teacher in 1988’s Stand and Deliver. And for those of you who haven’t heard: in the not-so-distant future, human-like robots will almost completely wipe out the human race, and it’ll be up to him to lead the counter-attack. At least if you watch Sci-Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica. The fourth season premieres Friday, April 4th. Edward James Olmos speaks with Faith Salie on Fair Game.
At The World, we believe strongly that human-centered journalism is at the heart of an informed public and a strong democracy. We see democracy and journalism as two sides of the same coin. If you care about one, it is imperative to care about the other.
Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform and empower listeners and hold the powerful accountable. Neither would be possible without the support of listeners like you. If you believe in our work, will you give today? We need your help now more than ever!
